  • Yes. Capelin offers an elevated tasting menu experience in Niagara, rooted in seasonal ingredients and thoughtful technique. While the cuisine is refined and intentional, the atmosphere is what we refer to as casual fine dining. A balance of precision, comfort and conversation.

  • We serve a multi course tasting menu with a thoughtful fish forward focus. Our guests sit to dine at the same time, creating a shared and immersive dining experience.

    Each course is plated in full view, encouraging dialogue with owners Alex and Kat. The experience lasts approximately two and a half hours.

  • Our tasting menu is $120 per person. Optional wine pairings are available for $65 per person and highlight Niagara producers.

  • We are open Thursday through Saturday.

    Thursday: One seating at 6:30pm

    Friday: One seating at 6:30pm

    Saturday: During the summer we will be offering two seatings on Saturdays.

    We invite you to to arrive up to 15 minutes before your seating to enjoy a pre-dinner drink before service starts.

    We are closed Sunday through Wednesday.

  • Reservations are available through our booking platform up to 60 days in advance. Same day bookings are accepted until noon, based on availability.

    A $30 deposit per guest is taken at the time of booking and applied to your final bill. Deposits are refundable if you cancel your reservation at least 48 hours in advance. This policy allows us to minimize food waste and maintain our standards of care.

  • Please call us at (289) 438-1439 if you are delayed. Because all guests begin the experience together, we strive to begin the tasting menu promptly at your reservation time.

  • If you require dietary modifications, please include a note when making your reservation. We will respond to confirm whether your request can be accommodated on the current menu.

    Our menu is fish focused, with land based proteins used thoughtfully and sparingly. Pescatarian diners can be accommodated with advance notice. Shellfish allergies can often be accommodated. Due to the nature of our tasting menu, we are unable to accommodate vegetarian/vegan diners or fish allergies.

    All accommodations are menu dependent, so please include dietary requests each time you book with us.

  • Street parking in downtown St. Catharines is $2 per hour and free after 6 p.m. The downtown core can become busy on concert or game nights, so we recommend arriving early. Several paid parking lots are located nearby, including one adjacent to the restaurant.

  • Yes. Our entrance is ground level and wheelchair accessible. Our restroom is also accessible. If you require assistance, please call ahead and we will be happy to help.
